Virtual Exchange and COIL

Connect with students and professors from around the world! Virtual exchange brings together Valencia College students and international partners in a joint effort to collaborate on different projects, goals, and discussions. Virtual exchange as part of a course is typically called Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). COIL courses are offered throughout the year based on professor interest and the establishment of international partnerships. If you’re interested in taking a COIL course, please contact the SAGE Office. In addition to COIL, co-curricular virtual exchange happens throughout the year, especially during International Education Week.

Past COIL Courses:

CIS 2910 IT Capstone (Partnership with Universidad Simón Bolivar in Colombia)
CGS 2100 Computer Fund and Appl (Partnership with University of La Sabana in Colombia)
CIS 2910 IT Capstone (Partnership with UNISON in Sonora, Mexico)

Virtual Study Abroad Experiences

The SAGE Office has virtual study abroad experiences through a partnership with Study Abroad Association.  These experiences are FREE to any Valencia College employee or student.  You just need to use your Valencia College email to register.  Please click here: https://360discovered.studyabroadassociation.com/login/

Global Guest Speakers

In 2020, SAGE launched the new Global Guest Speaker (GGS) initiative, bringing in industry experts from around the world to engage with faculty and students. Move beyond prescribed classroom activities by experiencing real-world perspectives and interacting with industry professionals. Gain exposure to global practices, markets, mindsets, and cultural/ethical principles. As GGS opportunities are created, the SAGE Team will post in our Events section. Interested in viewing past events? Please view our GGS archive below and email studyabroad@valenciacollege.edu with your request to access the recording link(s) if available:

These programs are perfect for students studying Hospitality, Tourism, Culinary, Bakery/Pastry, and Business. It is an affordable opportunity for students to study in the U.S. and gain work experience.
