Semiconductor Engineering Technology
Associate in Science (A.S.)
Semiconductor chips are an essential component in modern electronics found in Internet of Things (IoT)—the network of smart devices such as computers, smartphones, and many other electronic devices. As more technological devices implement artificial intelligence, the need grows for more semiconductor engineers and technicians to create new semiconductor applications.
Starting Fall 2025, this state-of-the-art degree program will provide a broad background in semiconductor technologies and applications, maintenance, operation, and management of cleanroom facilities, including protocols, policies, and regulations for a safe cleanroom environment. Valencia College has advanced laboratories with the latest technology and special test equipment. Students will also receive specialized courses in semiconductor material processing, wafer preparation, etching, testing, and packaging.
