Intensive English Program (IEP)
Valencia College provides an onsite intensive English program for students ages 15 and above. We accept students at all language levels from beginner to advanced. Students interested in a degree at Valencia who need to improve their English can start with the Intensive English Program (IEP) and then transfer into a Valencia degree program.
The Intensive English Program (IEP) is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation for the period August 2015 through August 2025 and agrees to uphold the CEA Standards for English Language Programs and Institutions. CEA is recognized by the U.S. Secretary
of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency for English language programs

Continuing Education students may request an official transcript of record or a certificate (if eligible*) .

- Withdrawal from the program:
- Before the session starts, notify Student Services and receive a full refund.
- After the session starts, notify your instructor or advisor. There there is no refund. The student receives a "W" grade.
- F-1 students must complete a "Departure Form".
- Re-enrollment in the program:
- Within less than a year interruption, students can register in their next level providing they passed.
- After more than a year, students must retake the placement test to determine their level before they can register.
- Once the program has been completed, students may not re-enroll in the program later.
- Maximum program duration:
- Students may not spend more than 24 months consecutively or non-consecutively to complete the program.
- The program duration may vary depending on the level the student started with.

The program is located on West and Osceola Campuses. With supportive staff, highly trained instructors, state of the art facilities, and cultural events, students start learning and improving their English from day one.
- F-1 Student Visas.
- Nine levels from low beginner through high advanced.
- New start date every two months.
- Based on their level, students can study in the program from two months to one year and a half.
- Classes meet daily.
- Hours : 9:00am-1:30pm with a 30-minute break.
- Free conversation hour.
- Free internet access.
- A variety of social and cultural activities.
- One week off every seven weeks with three-day weekends every two weeks.
Students are placed in the program based on the results of a computer-based assessment. This placement test includes listening, speaking, short answer, and written portions and is taken the week before class starts.
- Each level lasts seven weeks with 4.5 hours of classes each day.
- Students must pass the level before moving to the next one.
- Each level cover different objectives and topics with increased difficulty.
Passing grades: A, B & C.
- A = 100-90%
- B = 89-80%
- C = 79-70%
- F = 69-0%
4 hours a day: starts at 9:00 am with a 30-minute break halfway.
100% face-to-face classes on West or Osceola campus.
