Credit for Accelerated Skills Training
Articulation Agreement between Valencia College Associate in Science (A.S.) Degree Programs and Accelerated Skills Training (AST) Programs
In an effort to provide career ladder opportunities for students in career and workforce education programs, Valencia College has established articulation agreements to extend full college credit toward an Associate in Science degree to eligible students who have completed one of the approved Accelerated Skills Training (AST) programs at Valencia College and met all of the Industry Certification requirements to receive the college credit.
Earning an Associate in Science Degree at Valencia College will offer you additional career options as well as opportunities to move up in your field.
Students must apply for admission to Valencia College within 3 years of completing the AST program, declare a major in the required A.S. degree program, and meet all the requirements for degree seeking status.
Steps to Receive the Award of credit
- Search the list of Accelerated Skills Training programs that are available at Valencia College to determine if credit is available for your program.
- You must be a declared major in the aligned A.S. degree program of Study in order to be eligible to receive the credit.
- Login to MyVC to locate your assigned Student Success Coach.
- Click on the “My Student Records” link. Then click on “My Student Profile” to see the name of your Student Success Coach.
- Contact your Student Success Coach regarding the requirements for award of credit for the Accelerated Skills Training program.
- Send a copy of the Certificate of Completion for your AST program and a copy of all the required industry certifications listed – via MyVC e-mail to your assigned Student Success Coach
- Your Student Success Coach will review the required documentation and verify that all the requirements have been met for the award of credit.
- Once eligibility has been determined, your Student Success Coach will submit the request for the award of credit to the Graduation and Records office to be processed (processing can take 2-5 days).
