In 2008, the SAGE Advisory Committee was formed to provide input and guidance all aspects of study abroad. In 2010 the composition and scope of that group changed with the implementation of the Strategic Plan for International Education. The International Education Steering Committee was formed to get the work of the strategic plan underway.

The SAGE Global Learning Committee (GLC) is a permanent advisory group managed by the office of Study Abroad and Global Experiences (SAGE). The Committee provides guidance related to the development, modification, and enhancement of Valencia’s global programming, both on and off campus. Committee members will support initiatives and advise on policies and procedures for our focus areas including Study Abroad/Study Away, Internationalization of the Curriculum, Faculty Development, and Events.
Faculty are appointed by the Collegewide Faculty Association, paying special attention to ensure regional representation. Deans are appointed by the Instructional Affairs Council (IAC). Appointments are assigned for three consecutive years, and both faculty and Deans may be reappointed.

The International Educations Connections Team is the decision-making group for all issues related to international education at Valencia College. They also give final approval for faculty proposals to lead short-term study abroad programs.
